President’s Message – 40 years of AIDA CCI

We celebrate four decades of associations and support for the industry. Read the message from the Chairman of the Board, Fernando Paiva de Castro.

“On January 16, 1986, 137 companies and three business associations decided to join forces and found AIDA – Industrial Association of the District of Aveiro. This moment marked the beginning of a collective project born from the vision and courage of those who believed that the future of our region depended on a stronger, more organised, and more competitive industry.

Four decades later, AIDA CCI is proud to have closely followed the evolution of the district’s business fabric, supporting companies in their challenges of innovation, qualification, and internationalisation. Throughout this journey, we have always sought to stand by entrepreneurs, build bridges, open paths, and contribute to the sustainable development of the regional economy.

In 2018, the recognition as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the District of Aveiro reinforced our mission and broadened our responsibility. This status consolidated AIDA CCI as a privileged partner for companies and an active agent in promoting competitiveness and the international assertion of the territory.

To mark this 40th anniversary, we will develop a set of initiatives throughout the year that reflect our commitment to proximity with our associates and the entire business community, valuing the goods and services produced in the region for their quality, innovation, design, and sustainability.

This is a celebration that belongs to many: to the founding companies that made the creation of AIDA possible, to the successive Boards that over the years assumed the responsibility of leading it, and, very specially, to the team that daily transforms our mission into concrete support for companies in the District of Aveiro. It is this joint work that sustains 40 years of history and impact.
