IEFP Applications Opening | INICIAR and +Talento Internships

AIDA CCI informs that applications for the “Estágios INICIAR” (Start Internships) and “Estágios +Talento” (+Talent Internships) measures open on February 10, 2026, at 09:00 AM. These measures, promoted by IEFP and funded by Portugal 2030, are crucial opportunities for companies to strengthen their teams with qualified talent.

Measure Details: Estágios INICIAR

This measure aims to improve the employability profile of unemployed persons through practical experience in a work context.

Target Audience: Unemployed persons registered with the IEFP holding qualification level 4 or 5 of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
Duration: 6 months (non-renewable).
Internship Grant:
- NQF Level 4: 1.4 times the IAS (Social Support Index).
- NQF Level 5: 1.5 times the IAS.

Measure Details: Estágios +Talento

Measure designed to promote the insertion of qualified young people into the labor market and talent retention.

Target Audience: Young unemployed persons registered with the IEFP, aged 35 or under, holding qualification level 6, 7, or 8 (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD).
Duration: 6 months (non-renewable).
Internship Grant:
- NQF Level 6 (Bachelor’s): 1.7 times the IAS.
- NQF Level 7 (Master’s): 2.0 times the IAS.
- NQF Level 8 (PhD): 2.4 times the IAS.

Financial Support for Companies (Promoting Entities)

Companies hosting interns under these measures benefit from direct financial reimbursements from the IEFP:

Grant Reimbursement: General rule of 80% (which can reach 95% in majoration situations, such as for private non-profit entities or companies under the R&D regime).
Meals: Reimbursement of the meal allowance (value set for Public Administration).
Insurance: Reimbursement of the workplace accident insurance premium.
Transport: Reimbursement of transport expenses (when applicable, e.g., interns with disabilities).

Employment Bonus (Majoration)

If the promoting entity signs a permanent employment contract (open-ended) with the intern within 20 working days after the end of the internship, it may benefit from an Employment Bonus, corresponding to an increase in financial support.

Application Deadlines

The submission period runs from 09:00 AM on February 10, 2026, to 6:00 PM on July 30, 2026. We warn that the notice may close earlier if the budget allocation is reached, so we recommend proceeding quickly.
