The LEADER territorial policy is currently implemented in Europe through the financial instrument known as Community-Led Local Development (CLLD), supported by the Rural Development Programme (PDR2020) and the Regional Operational Programmes, both in mainland areas and rural regions.

This territorial approach is locally implemented by Local Action Groups (LAGs), which are partnerships comprising public and private entities that represent local communities.

AIDA CCI is the managing entity of the Aveiro Norte LAG and the Aveiro Sul LAG. These territorial structures are responsible for implementing a strategy aimed at addressing the needs of local communities across various sectors of activity, through the co-financing of projects that contribute to the local/regional development of the territory. In parallel, the LAGs are also responsible for the implementation of interterritorial cooperation projects, transnational cooperation, and territorial animation initiatives that foster the promotion of the territory’s specific characteristics and the emergence of new local development dynamics, encouraging the participation of local communities.
