The Internationalise in Portuguese project, developed by the AIDA CCI – Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Aveiro District in partnership with ANEME (National Association of Metallurgical and Electromechanical Companies), aims to strengthen institutional and business cooperation within the CPLP (Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries). Supported by Portugal 2020, this project seeks to promote the internationalisation of Portuguese companies through digital platforms, databases, and existing partnership networks.
This project continues the work of the SIGAME and GLOBAL PME initiatives, both created to facilitate business entry into international markets. SIGAME focuses on strengthening business relations with CPLP countries, while GLOBAL PME seeks multisectoral opportunities through tenders launched by multilateral organisations. These initiatives form the foundation for Internationalise in Portuguese, expanding their impact through new strategic actions.
Activities include:
- Promotion of Portuguese companies in international markets through roadshows and business missions in CPLP countries.
- Consolidation of the CPLP/SIGAME Business Platform, facilitating partnerships and closing business deals among member countries.
- Institutional and strategic visits to countries such as Equatorial Guinea, aimed at strengthening business partnerships.
- Studies to identify the profile of investors and importers in key markets such as Angola and Brazil.
The project also promotes workshops focused on procurement, developing support tools to help companies explore and establish business partnerships in foreign markets. Ultimately, Internationalise in Portuguese is expected to consolidate the internationalisation of national companies, promoting an integrated and competitive offering of goods and services across CPLP countries.
