Service Cancellation and Refund Policy
This policy regulates the conditions for cancellation, refunds, and the exercise of the right of withdrawal applicable to digital and in-person services purchased through the AIDA CCI – Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Aveiro District portal.
1. Provider Identification
- Entity: AIDA CCI – Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Aveiro District
- Tax Registration Number (NIPC): 501090436
- Headquarters: Zona Industrial de Taboeira, Rua da Boavista, 3800-115 Aveiro, Portugal
- Email: aida@aida.pt
2. Scope
As the products sold on this portal are service provisions (Membership Fees, Training, Space Rental, Advertising, Certificates, etc.) and not physical goods, the “merchandise return” policy does not apply. Instead, the cancellation rules and the Right of Withdrawal apply.
3. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-off Period)
In accordance with Decree-Law No. 24/2014, the Client (when qualified as a Final Consumer) has the right to withdraw from the contract without incurring any costs and without the need to indicate a reason, within a period of 14 (fourteen) days from the date of the contract conclusion (date of order/payment confirmation).
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal: The Client acknowledges that they lose the right of withdrawal in the following situations:
- Fully Performed Services: If the service has been fully executed before the 14-day period has elapsed (e.g., immediate issuance of a Certificate of Origin or publication of an advertisement).
- Commencement of Execution with Prior Agreement: If the Client has expressly requested that the service provision begins during the withdrawal period (e.g., renting a room for the day following the purchase).
4. Specific Cancellation Conditions by Service
In addition to the general right, AIDA CCI applies the following operational cancellation rules:
A. Space Rental
- Up to 15 days before the event: 100% refund of the amount paid (including the deposit).
- Between 14 and 5 days before the event: The 50% deposit is non-refundable. If the full amount has been paid, 50% will be refunded.
- Less than 5 days before the event: No refund will be issued.
- Note: The client may request to reschedule the date, subject to room availability, without penalty, if communicated 72 hours in advance.
B. Advertising in InfoAIDA Magazine
- Before Edition Closing/Graphic Production: If the cancellation occurs before the start of graphic work or the edition closing, the amount paid will be refunded.
- After Production/Printing Begins: Once the service enters the production phase or the magazine is sent to the printer, the service is considered initiated and non-refundable.
C. Certificates of Origin and International Acts
- If the document has not yet been issued/validated by the services: Full refund.
- If the document has already been issued or authenticated: No refund will be issued, as the administrative service has been rendered.
D. Training and Events (Registrations)
- Cancellations communicated up to 5 working days before the start date: Full refund.
- Cancellations after this period or no-show: No refund will be issued. In exceptional cases analyzed by the Board, a credit for future training may be issued.
E. Membership Fees
- The payment of quotas refers to a statutory period. The request to cancel membership status must follow the AIDA CCI Statutes and must be communicated in writing. Fees already paid referring to past or current periods are, as a rule, non-refundable.
5. Cancellation Procedure
To exercise the right of withdrawal or request a cancellation, the Client must communicate their intention unequivocally via:
- Email: Send to aida@aida.pt with the subject “Cancellation Order #[Order Number]”.
- Registered Letter: To the headquarters address indicated in point 1.
6. Refunds
- Timeframe: The refund will be made within a maximum of 14 days after receiving the validated cancellation request.
- Method: The refund will be made using the same payment method used in the initial transaction, or by Bank Transfer (if the original method does not allow a reversal, as is frequent with Multibanco References). For this purpose, the Client must provide the IBAN.
7. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, the consumer may resort to an Alternative Consumer Dispute Resolution Entity:
- CNIACC – National Center for Consumer Conflict Information and Arbitration
