Applications Now Open for the Road 2 Web Summit 2024
Applications are now open for this year’s edition of the Road 2 Web Summit, a joint initiative by Startup Portugal and Web Summit, created to select the most promising startups to represent Portugal at Web Summit 2024.
The Road 2 Web Summit program is designed to prepare startups for participation in one of the world’s most influential technology conferences, held this year from November 11th to 14th in Lisbon. Through a series of support actions, bootcamps, and exposure opportunities, the program maximizes each startup’s potential for visibility, networking, and funding at the event.
In 2024, the program has seen a significant growth of 10% in applications, welcoming a highly competitive batch of 125 selected startups. These ventures span across strategic innovation areas such as Artificial Intelligence, MedTech, FinTech, and Environmental Technologies. Remarkably, 60% of the selected companies are already active in international markets and have jointly raised over €37 million in investment—a strong indicator of the maturity and international readiness of Portuguese entrepreneurship.
Startups accepted into the program receive an ALPHA or BETA package with up to 50% discount on participation, including access to exhibition space, startup activations, and the opportunity to apply for the PITCH competition. Selected participants also benefit from exclusive bootcamps, networking via the Web Summit app, and a dedicated success manager to assist in preparation.
The program also offers added visibility with pitch opportunities at the Portugal x Lisboa stand, participation in the Business Abroad 2025 initiative, and access to after-events aimed at fostering investor and media connections.
