Join a Horizon Europe Health Project: Technology Partners Wanted
The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), in collaboration with AIDA CCI, is promoting a strategic opportunity for companies and R&D institutes to join a project proposal under the Horizon Europe programme, specifically within the topic HORIZON-HLTH-2025-03-STAYHLTH-01-two-stage. The proposal, titled “Improving daily independence in people with intellectual disabilities through inclusive training on Time Responsibility (XR) and integrated feedback with caregivers,” aims to develop innovative solutions combining Virtual Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the daily autonomy of people with Intellectual Disabilities.
In this context, the consortium is searching for partners with specialised skills in three fundamental technological areas crucial for the project’s success. This represents an excellent opportunity for Portuguese entities to position themselves at the forefront of European Technological Innovation in healthcare.
Partnership Areas and Profiles Sought
The project aims to integrate cutting-edge technologies to create a robust and inclusive support ecosystem. Consequently, the following partner profiles are being sought:
1. Supplier of Wearable Sensors and Haptic Vests
- Profile: An SME or R&D institute with proven experience in hardware for physiological monitoring and haptic feedback.
- Experience in:
- Skin patches with biometric sensors (HRV, EDA, accelerometry).
- Compression vests or deep tactile stimulation devices.
- CE/Class I certification for medical devices.
- Hardware integration with AI engines via API and BLE.
- Role in the project: To collaborate on the design and supply of the necessary hardware for real-time physiological feedback and to actively participate in clinical trials.
2. Entity for Data Governance and Legal Compliance
- Profile: A legal specialist in Digital Health and sensitive data, with demonstrated experience in European projects.
- Experience in:
- Application of the GDPR in AI-based and digital health systems.
- Projects involving minors and vulnerable populations.
- Development of Data Management Plans (FAIR principles).
- Alignment with Horizon Europe regulations, EHDS, MDR, and the AI Act.
- Role in the project: To ensure full legal compliance, including data protection, informed consent, risk management, and alignment with current regulatory frameworks.
3. Partner in Artificial Intelligence
- Profile: An entity with strong experience in physiological signal modelling and bio-informed feedback systems.
- Experience in:
- Real-time modelling of physiological signals to infer emotional states.
- Development of adaptive systems and bio-informed feedback.
- Roles in the project:
- To support the development of AI agents that guide users in training simulations for autonomy and work.
- Secondly, to develop predictive stress models based on sensors and integrate a bio-adaptive virtual assistant, focusing on children with autism spectrum disorders.
