Portugal Strengthens its Position in European Microelectronics with a Strong Presence at SEMICON Europa 2025
The Microelectronics Agenda, co-funded by the RRP, was a highlight at SEMICON Europa 2025, held in Munich from November 18-21, where it showcased the technological capabilities and results of the consortium to the international semiconductor industry. Represented by AIDA CCI, PCI – Science and Innovation Park, and INESC MN, the initiative affirmed Portugal’s potential in this strategic sector.
A Showcase of Innovation and Global Collaboration
Under the theme “Global Collaborations for European Economic Resilience,” this year’s edition reinforced the importance of global partnerships for European competitiveness—a principle aligned with the work developed by the Agenda. At stand C1.649, innovative products and technologies were presented, including advanced electronic boards, telecommunication modules, microfabricated wafers, and photonic transceivers for next-generation networks.
Strategic Participation in Conferences and Debates
Throughout the event, the team participated in strategic conferences dedicated to topics such as advanced packaging, sustainability in semiconductor manufacturing, MEMS & imaging sensors, and smart mobility. These debates addressed trends that will impact sectors like healthcare, automotive, IoT, and telecommunications, including 3D integration, circularity, and AI applied to manufacturing.
Positive Outcome and Future Opportunities
The Agenda’s presence generated strategic contacts with international companies, investors, and research centers, strengthening opportunities for collaboration and internationalization. Portugal continues to establish itself as a relevant player in European microelectronics, contributing with high-tech solutions and promoting a more sustainable and innovative industry.
