AIDA CCI Boosts SME Internationalisation with the ExporTECH 5.0 Project

The AIDA CCI – Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the District of Aveiro is promoting the ExporTECH 5.0 project, a strategic initiative approved under NOTICE No. MPr-2024-5 – SICE – Internationalisation of SMEs. With a planned duration from April 2025 to March 2027, this project aims to equip small and medium-sized enterprises for the challenges of global markets.
The main objective is to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs by promoting the growth and consolidation of their exports. Furthermore, the programme seeks to expand the international recognition of Portuguese companies, with a special focus on those located in the NUTS II North and Centre regions.


The ExporTECH 5.0 Project in Detail

ExporTECH 5.0 has been structured to offer integrated and comprehensive support to SMEs wishing to expand their activities into foreign markets. Consequently, the project will implement a diverse set of internationalisation actions, designed to meet the specific needs of the companies and target markets.

Planned Internationalisation Actions

To achieve its goals, the project includes the implementation of the following types of actions:

  • International Training: Training sessions and workshops to provide companies with essential skills for operating in global markets.
  • Presence at International Fairs: Organisation of collective participation of companies in internationally relevant exhibitions, facilitating contact with potential clients and partners.
  • Business Missions: Conducting scouting missions to strategic markets, allowing companies to understand the local business environment and identify opportunities.
  • Importer Missions: Hosting potential international buyers in Portugal to introduce them to the national offer and establish commercial partnerships.
  • International Promotion and Marketing: Development of marketing campaigns and materials adapted to target markets to increase the visibility of the companies.
  • Digital Tools and Channels: Support in adopting new digital technologies, such as creating online stores and joining marketplaces, to boost international sales.

Performance and Result Indicators

The success of the project will be measured through a set of quantitative and qualitative indicators, which include:

  • Target markets (EU and third countries): 10
  • Markets covered by digital marketing actions: 10
  • Actions for prospecting and attracting new clients: 11
  • Presences at international fairs and exhibitions: 8
  • Own online stores created: 4
  • New adhesions to marketplaces: 10
  • Export intensity in the post-project year: 40.89%

The ExporTECH 5.0 project is co-financed by the European Union through COMPETE 2030, within the scope of the Innovation and Digital Transition Programme.
