INOV.AM - Innovation in Additive Manufacturing

The INOV.AM project is an innovative initiative aimed at driving innovation and the development of advanced technologies in the field of additive manufacturing (also known as 3D printing). This additive manufacturing technology enables the creation of highly customised, high-value-added products, which can significantly transform the competitiveness of Portuguese industry on the global stage.

Led by the company Erofio, the INOV.AM consortium includes 73 entities, such as AIDA CCI, the University of Minho, and PIEP (Innovation Pole in Polymer Engineering). These entities work together to develop new materials, advanced manufacturing processes, automation, and control software, integrating traditional techniques with additive manufacturing to improve efficiency and sustainability in industrial processes.

INOV.AM also stands out for its commitment to sustainability and innovation management, with a focus on disseminating technological solutions both nationally and internationally. Within the framework of WP23 – Innovation Management and Sustainability, strategic actions will be implemented to ensure knowledge mobility and product certification, aiming to enhance the quality and competitiveness of the participating companies.

This project plays a fundamental role in fostering an innovative ecosystem that not only seeks to optimise production processes but also aims to create new market opportunities for Portuguese companies. By enabling the production of more precise and customised products, additive manufacturing offers a significant competitive advantage, especially in high-tech industries and sectors requiring tailored solutions.

With a significant investment, the consortium is committed to creating disruptive technological solutions, reinforcing Portugal’s position as a pioneer in the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, and thus promoting industrial growth and sustainability.
