The project PME Qualify, promoted by AIDA CCI between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2020, aimed primarily to enhance the business capacity of SMEs for the development of differentiated processes, goods, and services. This project, co-financed by Portugal 2020 through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), was designed to equip SMEs in the North and Centre regions with tools to boost their competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability in global markets.
With a total eligible cost of €626,208.74, of which €532,277.43 was funded by the ERDF, the project aimed to reduce regional disparities in access to information, qualification, and capacity building. It carried out activities in several municipalities of the Aveiro district, such as Vale de Cambra, S. M. Feira, Oliveira de Azeméis, S. João da Madeira, and Águeda.
Main Activities:
- Identification and awareness of critical competitiveness factors: Activities included PI Talks, seminars on digital innovation, marketing, and Industry 4.0, fostering exchanges between experts and entrepreneurs.
- Promotion of cooperation among SMEs: Speed networking sessions and meetings with major companies such as Sonae, Bosch, and PRIO helped strengthen SME collaboration and the creation of new business partnerships.
- Promotion of innovation practices: Events like the Aveiro 4.0 Symposium and the creation of the Aveiro Business Club encouraged the development of global supplier networks, facilitating access to new markets.
- Webinars and seminars: Topics included the European Green Deal, digital restructuring of the industry, and European support programmes, highlighting the importance of digital transformation and sustainability for the future of SMEs.
With an integrated and comprehensive approach, PME Qualify promoted sustainable growth and organizational innovation, positioning SMEs to compete more effectively and sustainably in international markets.
