Prospecting Visit to the ECTC Conference under the Microelectronics Agenda
The 74th Electronic Components and Technology Conference (ECTC) is being held from 28 to 31 May 2024 at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Denver, Colorado, USA. ECTC is the premier international event dedicated to packaging, components, and microelectronic systems science, technology, and education. It is sponsored by the IEEE Electronics Packaging Society.
The conference features a robust technical programme covering cutting-edge advancements in advanced packaging, modeling and simulation, photonics, materials and processing, interconnections, applied reliability, assembly technologies, and emerging microelectronics solutions. With over 130 international exhibitors and multiple technical tracks, the event serves as a global hub for experts, researchers, and industry leaders.
AIDA CCI is attending a Prospecting Visit to the ECTC Conference under the Microelectronics Agenda. On the first day, the delegation followed two high-level Special Sessions in the morning and attended several technical presentations in the afternoon. ECTC offers an excellent environment for technical exchange, cooperation, and strategic insight into future investment opportunities.
One of the highlights of this edition is the Special Session on Industry–Government Co-Investments, focusing on cross-continental initiatives including the European Chips Act and the CHIPS and Science Act in the United States. Speakers addressed the impact of global co-investment on semiconductor innovation, supply chain resilience, and collaborative research efforts.
AIDA CCI will continue to follow the programme closely until its conclusion on 31 May, representing the Portuguese consortium engaged in the implementation of the national Microelectronics Agenda.
The project “Microelectronics Agenda” runs from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2024 and is co-funded by the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) through Next Generation EU, with a total eligible non-repayable investment of €6,749,374.13.
