Review of EU Cohesion Policy: Towards Competitiveness and Sustainability
As part of its participation in the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), AIDA CCI announces the European Commission‘s recent initiative regarding the strategic review of the European Union’s cohesion policy. The goal is to align investments with current strategic priorities such as competitiveness, decarbonization, security, and economic resilience.
A Modern and Adaptive Cohesion Policy
In April 2025, the European Commission proposed guiding Member States to reprogram funds from the current period (2021-2027) towards areas with high economic and social impact. The focus remains on reducing territorial disparities but with a more effective approach centered on future challenges.
