RRP and the Portuguese Development Bank Launch New Business Support Lines with €300M
AIDA CCI announces that the “Recuperar Portugal” Mission Structure (EMRP) and the Portuguese Development Bank (BPF) have launched the new Financial Instrument for Innovation and Competitiveness (IFIC), within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). The initiative, presented on September 30th in Porto, marks the opening of the first three Calls for Applications, totaling a support of €300 million in non-repayable grants for companies.
What is IFIC?
IFIC is an instrument managed by BPF that aims to support business investment projects in innovative activities, R&D, and qualification processes. The goal is to strengthen the link between the business community and the scientific and technological system, with a special focus on projects related to the green and digital transitions.
Three New Support Lines for Your Company
The first calls opened under IFIC focus on strategic areas for the national economy. Companies can now prepare their applications for the following lines:
1. Reindustrialize Line
- Allocation: €150M
- Objective: To support projects that promote the diversification of the industrial base and increase the national production of high-value-added tradable goods and services, strengthening the link between companies and science.
2. Defense and Security Economy Line
- Allocation: €50M
- Objective: To strengthen the national industrial and technological base for defense and security, particularly for dual-use applications, by supporting R&D, productive investment, and internationalization projects.
3. AI for SMEs Line
Allocation: €100M
Objective: To encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence solutions by micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, aiming to optimize internal processes, increase operational efficiency, and integrate digital technologies in customer and partner interactions.
