AIDA CCI Calls on Companies to Report Trade Barriers in Accessing the Indian Market
As part of its activities within the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), and in collaboration with the DGAE – Directorate-General for Economic Activities, AIDA CCI invites companies to share information on the impact of trade barriers when accessing the Indian market. Your contribution is crucial to support the European Commission in resolving current export obstacles to this strategic market.
Background: Consultation on Indian Market Access
In the upcoming meeting of the Market Access Advisory Committee (MAAC), access to the Indian market will be discussed in detail. Currently, the European Union has 31 active barriers on record that affect European exports. These obstacles impact a wide range of economic sectors, namely:
- Agriculture and Fisheries
- Automotive
- Chemicals
- Cosmetics
- Electronics
- Pharmaceuticals
- Iron, Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals
- Telecommunications Equipment
- Textiles and Leather
- Wines and Spirits
- Horizontal Barriers (intellectual property, public procurement, labelling)
- Other Industries
Why is Your Participation Important?
Your direct input allows the European Commission to understand the practical challenges that companies face. By sharing your experience, your company can:
- Contribute to Resolving Obstacles: Your information will enable a more effective approach with Indian authorities to eliminate barriers affecting your business.
- Identify New Barriers: Help highlight difficulties that have not yet been formally identified by the European Commission, ensuring they are taken into account.
- Strengthen the European Negotiating Position: Provide concrete data that reinforces the EU’s arguments in defending the interests of European companies.
How to Submit Your Input
We invite all companies affected by these barriers—or others not yet listed—to share their experiences. To do so, please fill out the provided form and send it to d.costa@aida.pt.
The deadline for submissions is November 13, 2025.
