Consultation on Market Access Barriers in South Africa and the United Kingdom
The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) at AIDA CCI, in conjunction with the Directorate-General for Economic Activities (DGAE), informs that the next meeting of the Market Access Advisory Committee (MAAC) will analyze trade barriers identified in the markets of South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Currently, the following barriers are registered on the European Union’s Access2Markets Portal:
- South Africa: 8 active barriers, affecting the sectors of Agriculture and Fisheries, Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies, Wines and Spirits, and Public Procurement.
- United Kingdom: 1 active barrier in the services sector, related to the visa sponsorship system (“UK VISA SPONSORSHIP”), applicable to the temporary mobility of workers and third-country nationals.
We invite companies to share information on the impact of these barriers, as well as on other trade difficulties that persist in the mentioned markets and may not yet be identified.
The contributions collected will be essential to support the European Commission‘s actions and seek the resolution of export obstacles faced by national companies.
🗓️ We request that responses be sent by May 9, 2025.
We thank all companies in advance for their collaboration and remain available for any additional clarification.
