Pme2World

The PME2World – Qualification and Capacity-Building Program for SMEs, promoted by AIDA CCI, aimed to strengthen the strategic capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enhancing their competitiveness, flexibility, and responsiveness in the global market. The project ran from August 2017 to December 2019 and was co-financed by the ERDF under Portugal 2020, with a total eligible cost of €572,631.15, of which €319,484.43 was funded by the European Union.

Through a set of actions and initiatives focused on innovation, digitalisation, and qualification, the PME2World project supported 43 companies from the North and Centre regions in improving their productivity and adopting innovation strategies in the industrial sector.

Main Activities:

  1. Organisational Innovation and Management: Implementation of LEAN organisational methods to improve business efficiency and competitiveness.
  2. Digital Economy and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT): Initiatives focused on digital marketing, e-commerce, and IT systems, boosting the companies’ digital presence.
  3. Product, Service, and Process Development and Engineering: Support in developing new products and services to increase competitiveness.
  4. Eco-Innovation: Implementation of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) to encourage more sustainable practices.
  5. Quality: Implementation and transition to Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 and IATF 16949), improving processes and products.

Expected Results:

The project enabled participating companies to reinforce their strategic capabilities, increasing global market competitiveness through sustainable growth. AIDA CCI developed 5 Good Practice Guides and a Project Book, documenting the results achieved and improvements made by the companies in areas such as organisational innovation, digital economy, eco-innovation, and quality.
